BUDI DWISANTARA SUTISNA (Aka ‘Didi’)
Being of Dutch nationality, ethnically Indonesian, and spent my first eleven years behind the (very) Iron Curtain of Albania, I lived and worked in Holland, Singapore, Malaysia, Australia and India. It is this myriad of multi-cultural influences that lie at the heart of many of my strategic inspirations.

Previously fulfilled regional roles for Saatchi & Saatchi and JWT on Tiger Beer, Airtel, P&G, Pepsi, Sony, Toyota, Kraft, Cadbury and Sony Ericsson in Asia Pacific. Prior to my network careers, I worked at Amsterdam based hot shops KesselsKramer and StrawberryFrog on brands like Bavaria beer, IKEA, Mitsubishi Motors, Cap Gemini and Onitsuka Tiger.

During my advertising break I had a stint as a radio reporter with my own Movie Show on national radio – during which time I interviewed among others Paul Verhoeven and Britney Spears!

I have won Effies in every market I have worked including a global one, won the first Cannes Silver Lion for Collateral & Direct Marketing Print for Strawberry Frog and have been part of Agency the Year wins for both Saatchi Singapore and KL.

August 2011 – Present:

Global Planning Director at Arnold Amsterdam working on Volvo.
"Creating great work that works" is the mantra of Arnold Amsterdam. As Head of Planning of the agency I’m predominantly involved with Volvo cars globally. Collaborating with the brand guardians and marketing department on the strategies. Influencing global communications across US, Europe and China. Besides Volvo we also handle Stussy Benelux, Lee Jeans and Dell.

JWT Delhi is the third largest agency in the JWT network globally. Partnering up with Chief Creative Officer Besides to nurture and structure the agency creative culture in order to become a creative power house in the region. And direct responsibility on the most iconic brands in India: Pepsi Co and Airtel. 

1 August 2010 – 30 November 2010:
Freelance at Lavender Sydney.
Helping organise Lavender to build a planning culture that deliver on putting consumer self-interest first and playing a major role in winning the total Westpac account.

Planning Director Saatchi & Saatchi KL.
Structuring the planning department as well as the vision of the agency to become the regional agency for world changing ideas that create sustainable growth for their clients.

22 November 2005 – 4 January 2008:
Senior Planner at Saatchi & Saatchi Singapore.
Making the world’s renowned creative hothouse also famous for its effective campaigns. Work that works included among others: United Overseas Bank, Tiger Beer, HP, Sony Ericsson and local accounts of Singapore Navy and Guinness.

01 Augustus 2004 – 15 November 2005:
Senior Planner at KesselsKramer.
This independent agency, based in Amsterdam, works on a wide spectrum of projects that vary in focus from campaigns for an international fashion brand (Diesel) to a documentary about the world’s two lowest ranking football teams (The Other Final). I was primarily responsible for Bavaria Beer and SNS Bank.

30 Augustus 2001 – 25 July 2004:
Strategic Planner at Strawberry Frog.
Planner at Strawberry Frog are responsible for the development and guarding of strategies that help challenger brands to compete for attention on equal terms with dominant dinosaurs. Primarily on international campaigns like Mitsubishi Motors Europe, Onitsuka Tiger, Sony Ericsson, Cap Gemini and IKEA.

1 July 2000 – 30 Augustus 2001:
Radio reporter for NCRV on Dutch National radio station 3FM.
With my own weekly Movies Section which included guest speakers like Paul Verhoeven and Britney Spears.

1 May 1999 – 25 June 2000:

Responsible for infusing this creative, yet very traditionally Dutch agency, with some more international and entrepreneurial spirit. Worked on campaigns like; Saab, Gouden Gids (Yellow Pages), Flexa, en PCM.

Launched the Internet provider Xtreme.nl nationally, freelanced for Pioneer Benelux, advised Philips design and UPC (Internet provider).
